Sourced from our recent trip to Colombia. This community lot represents a connection between the family & producers that we met on our trip.
Traceability & a commitment to providing a liveable income for their families. Specialty coffee should create more than great cups. It should create better outcomes for producers, more responsible practices for the planet and long-term performance across the supply chain. The department of Huila is a big player in the production of coffee in Colombia, having amazing agroclimatic conditions.
On the southern part you’ll find Bruselas, which is part of the municipality of Pitalito. The production of coffee has brought Bruselas notoriety, and specially of quality coffee, becoming the main economic income in the area.
Bruselas is the corregimientos that produces more volume of coffee in the Andes Region, hence the name of this coffee: Andino Especial. It is a place with hard working coffee growers, where the knowledge has been passed through generations as many of the farms.
The coffee growers of Bruselas are very traditional with an average size of 3 hectares, where many of the chores are controlled by the family. The quality & attention to detail is extremely high & we were very fortunate to witness the full process.
