Puyango, nestled in the southern region of Ecuador, boasts a diverse and picturesque landscape. Puyango's main economic activities revolve around agriculture, with a particular focus on coffee cultivation. The fertile soil and favorable climate make it an ideal location for coffee production. The coffee farms in Puyango yield high-quality beans sought after for their unique flavor profiles. As a result, coffee plays a vital role in the local economy, providing livelihoods for many residents while contributing to the region's rich cultural tapestry.

Puyango is a canton in south Ecuador, and the community of passionate coffee farmers who contributed to this lot live in the mountains surrounding the Lagunas de Saraguallas, which feed into the Puyango river. Farmers are second and third generation and work collaboratively on plots of around 15 hectares, typically 2 of which are dedicated to growing coffee, alongside natural reserves and crops such as corn, oranges and plantain.

Edison manages his farm alongside his wife Kerli, who focuses on post-harvest processing. Their children Edison Junior and Maria Eduarda are increasingly involved in this family business - Edison Junior is studying agronomy, and hopes to continue his father’s legacy of openness and innovation. Sustainability and adaptability are at the heart of Sitio Gourita, and this coffee is a testament to the family's work.
