One of the most well known regions in Brazilian coffee production is the Cerrado Mineiro, the country’s youngest designated coffee-growing area, complete with it’s own Protected Denomination of Origin. Spanning approximately 1.2 million square miles—about 23% of Brazil’s landmass—the Cerrado is a tropical savannah located in central Brazil.

The Cerrado itself is home to over 935 bird species, nearly 300 types of mammals, and around 5,000 endemic plant species.

Swiss Water® Process was designed as an alternative to using Methylene Chloride as a decaffeination solvent. They are fully committed to quality coffee, and are committed to never using chemicals to remove caffeine.
